Health Canada just declared today that Bisphenol A (BPA) is now considered a harmful toxic chemical in Canada and is moving towards strengthening the regulation by limiting its use in the country. BPA is found in baby bottles, the lining in the insides of most tin cans, along with some dental sealants, sports helmets, and compact discs. 'It [BPA] is linked to developmental problems in kids, breast cancer in women and prostate cancer in men." Environmental Defence's Rick Smith remarked.
The harmful effects this chemical brings are shocking and we are glad that government is making a big step forward to protect public health by limiting BPA exposure in households. Other countries such as U.S and Europe are following suit.
